Upgrades can be bought at the Tech Shop and are needed to increase the awesomeness of your spaceship. The more credits you gain the better gear you can equip your ship with.
Armor increases the number of hits your ship can sustain before
exploding. This is obviously a very important upgrade that
needs attention early in the game.
Maneuverability allows your ship to move from side to side with
greater ease. This is a very important early game upgrade as it
allows the ship to move quickly to dodge dangers or pick up space
gems.
Thrusters increase the speed of your ship allowing more distance
to be covered. This does make objects travel faster towards
your ship. Make sure you can dodge the dangers before
upgrading thrusters.
Efficiency circuits allow your energy to regenerate more
quickly. It also uses less energy when warping and
launching. This upgrade is extremely important and worth the
expense.
Shields allow the ship to activate a force field that negates
incoming damage. The higher the level the longer the shield
can hold before running out of energy.
Lasers blast things out of your way! Plain and simple. The
higher the laser level the less energy is required to fire
them. It is good to invest in this upgrade after others as
lasers are not needed right away. But boy are they
fun.
Warp drives you a large amount of energy to hurl your ship over
great distances. This upgrade is very important for those
explorers looking to go the distance. This paired with
Efficiency will get your ship through levels faster.
The Gravitator is an interesting invention. It pulls space
gems towards your ship so they can be harvested easily. This
is fun to use but is not absolutely needed. It makes funny
sounds!
